NHS Drama Class
A Note from the director
I am a graduate of TCNJ with a Masters in English Education and a Concentration in Theater. Immediately upon graduating college I worked on the ten person team who opened The Bristol Riverside Theater. At BRT I held many positions on both the production and marketing sides. I have been teaching theater at the high school for the past 20 years and founded the Roadies.
Drama classes are comprised of both the serious actor looking to pursue theater as a career and the student who just wants to get comfortable speaking in front of others. Although this is primarily a performance based class, there are opportunities available for those who want to focus on sound and lighting.
This year the classes will be producing The Ten Minute Showcase during the first semester. Each student will be cast in a ten minute play. The play will be rehearsed and produced. At the end of the semester approximately 20 shows will be chosen to participate in one of two evening performances on January 17 and 18, 2019.
Time will be spent on developing character in order to deliver the most believable performances whether it be comedy or drama. As a result Uta Hagen's 9 questions will be utilized with every scripted performance.
